The UB Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program is multifaceted leading academic and enrichment program for talented students who are historically economically disadvantaged and inadmissible for general admissions at UB. It is the largest program in New York State currently serving 940 students. All EOP students enter UB as high achievers who have demonstrated their potential to academically and personally succeed and graduate. Applicants must have graduated from a New York State High School and applicants along with their parents/guardians must be New York State residents who qualify under EOP financial eligibility guidelines.
Dedicated to principles of access, equity, and excellence, the UB EOP has a fourfold mission:
EOP is regarded as one of the most successful programs of its type in the nation. Since its inception over 50 years ago, the Educational Opportunity Program at the University at Buffalo along with other programs in colleges and universities across New York State have graduated over 100,000 students. Although most EOP graduates begin their careers immediately after graduation, many continue their studies in Masters, Doctoral and Professional Programs across New York State.
