McNair Board

The advisory board for the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program consists of a cross section of University at Buffalo research faculty holding the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. Members provide advisement on project development and activities and serve as program advocates and faculty mentors.

Responsibilities of the McNair Advisory Board include:

  • Serve as recruitment and curriculum consultants.
  • Act as faculty mentors for participants during the academic year and summer research experience.
  • Encourage peers and senior administration to support the project.
  • Identify graduate students to serve as Academic Friend Mentors.

The advisory board also provides advice to the Program Director and staff on relevant matters, internal and external to the University at Buffalo that may impact the program.
