The Buffalo Region SUNY Alliance for Minority Participation (SUNY LSAMP) is a student enrichment and support services program sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The goal of SUNY LSAMP is to improve the academic performance, retention, graduation and graduate school admission rates of historically underrepresented minority students who are pursuing degrees in the areas of Natural Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The Buffalo Region SUNY LSAMP offers programs and services at the University at Buffalo and Buffalo State College during the academic year and summer sessions.  Tutorial assistance, student and academic enrichment seminars and internships are available. 

SUNY LSAMP provides both support and enrichment activities for its students who are majoring in or intend to major in the following disciplines:

    Some of the Support Services and Enrichment Activities Offered by SUNY LSAMP

  • Tutorial assistance is available to all SUNY LSAMP students at no charge. Tutoring assistance is available in a variety of courses related to the disciplines of natural sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics. Group and individualized tutoring sessions are provided depending on student need.

  • Paid research and/or industrial internship opportunities are provided for SUNY LSAMP participants during the fall and spring semesters, as well as the summer session.

  • SUNY LSAMP students are offered the opportunity to attend conferences to assist in their career development and preparation for graduate and professional schools. Click here for a calendar of events.
