Under the leadership of UB President John B. Simpson, the university has undertaken a review of its mission, aspirations and goals. UB 2020 will advance academic excellence, making UB one of the nation’s leading public research universities during the next 15 years. UB is creating a vision for each strategic strength representing areas across disciplines where the university can achieve significant academic excellence, prominence and recognition. These areas are broadly defined and grow out of long established strengths, rooted in the expertise of UB’s faculty, new and ongoing research and creative efforts.
CPMC enthusiastically supports UB 2020 and will work on two key strategic strength areas where the College can make worthwhile contributions:

Civic Engagement & Public Policy: The College strives to engage the community through public service internships, student community service and our course offerings.  Additional course offerings are under development.

Cultures and Texts: The College offers courses in Islamic Studies at UB, to promote knowledge, understanding and cooperation among the campus community.  Additional courses in this area are under development.
