The ARC tutor team consists of over 60 tutors available to help in the high-demand subjects and courses.

SSC System Information

Below are a list of videos you should watch to learn and review about how to navigate the online tutor report system. This link includes three separate videos:

Certification Information

The ARC has a certification through the College Reading and Learning Association and has been awarded Level I Certified Tutor, Level II Advanced Certified Tutor, and Level III Master Certified Tutor. Each level consists of an additional 20 hours of training and an additional 25 hours of tutoring. For Level II and III certification, tutors will create and implement a tutor training workshop. Once a tutor has completed the Level requirements, they must complete a certification application that can be picked up from the ARC Director. Online Tutor Training Workshops

Methods of Tutoring (MFC200)

This is an online course for UB students who are working or have worked as a tutor in some capacity. Students taking this course will assess and develop their knowledge of the learning process, tutoring skills, techniques, and personal learning strategies along with their inter personal and communication skills. Students will use their experiences from tutoring to complete the course assignments. For more information, contact the ARC Director.
